Going Green!
The big theme that I continued to see at almost every table today was "Green". There were so many green products to choose from. It has taken this idea some time to get to the Midwest but this show proved tome that it is finally here and taking off! I saw the most green products here than I ever have at a show!
How about a recycled Pencil?

Or a water powered calculator?

How many of your customers support being green?
Is being green important to you or to your company? If so, you are not alone! I want to hear from you and let me know why.

Green is in the eye of the beholder...or at least, it can be. I have a client, Antique Helper, www.antiquehelper.com who said to me a few weeks ago that they are the ultimate in green businesses. Why? Because they help collectors or estates divest of fine arts, antiques, and collectibles which might otherwise end up in the trash. Not only would that be a loss of valuable history in some cases, it does create unnecessary stuff in our landfills. I never thought about it but wow...they're right! And if you never been to fine art or collectible auction, check them out. They really are fun and you might just walk out with a new hobby.
As for green, I think it is about efficiency. Can you use less to do more? Let's relate this to sales--since that is what I consult in at: www.ActumGroup.com and www.INFOCUSSelling.com
To be green in sales, start by driving less. Take control of your calendar and set those appointments so you are not wasting time and gas driving back and forth across town. Today more than ever, if you tell the other person, "I'm going to be a few miles from you on Tuesday, can we meet then?" they are going to understand completely the need to not burn extra gas.
Excellent thoughts Jeff! I never thought of antiques as being green but your client is absolutely correct!! When I first started to write this blog I was thinking solely of things that are made from recycled materials (shirts, pens, pencils, etc.). The more that I dug into the different items available for the "Green" theory I found fun items like the water powered calculator as well as the water powered alarm clock. These are not solely made of recycled materials but still qualify for "Go Green".
Thank you for the sales tips! You and your crew always do such a great job! Please feel free to add your comments anytime!
