Golf Anyone?

Do you find yourself playing alot of golf anytime you can? Do you sponsor tables at golf outings? Do you sponsor a team at a golf outing?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions then I have one more for you.
How many of the following do you have?

  • Logoed Golf Bag

  • Logoed umbrella

  • Logoed Windshirt

  • Logoed Golf Balls

  • Logoed Golf Gloves

  • Logoed Shoes.
Now, how many of them do you want? You know the golf course is where alot of business is conducted. What a better way to show off your logo to you clients and potential clients!

At the Holiday Show that I talked about last week I saw some really great golf ideas. These can also be used as holiday gifts for the golf lover in your life!

One of the most unique items that I found was the custom logoed golf shoes. There were several different styles to choose from! These can also be purchased with your favorite MLB, NCAA and NFL logo!

I know that the major golf season is over but you never know when there will be a nice, warm fall or winter day that you will want logoed items to show off! It is always better to have them ready than to be scrambling around right before you need them.

Fall Break!!

Do you have kids that attend school? If so, your children may be on Fall Break! I love this time of the year! The leaves are changing to beautiful colors! The weather is crisp and cool but not too cold. It is time to rake the leaves and as Nathan would say, it is time to rake the leaves so they can jump into them! The best part is the holidays are just around the corner!

I hope you have a wonderful fall! Enjoy this picture of Nathan and Lisa at the Pumpkin Patch!

When a Magnet will not work. . .

Last summer we bought new refrigerator. I love the refrigerator because it has a bottom freezer and a top refrigerator. I was not sure if I would like the bottom freezer because it is the pull out basket and I have not ever had a freezer like that before. I was afraid that it would be hard to find the food but it has a couple of different areas to separate the food so it has worked. The top has french doors which I love! You can get larger items in it and it has a huge pull out drawer! The other requirement for me was a door water and crushed ice dispenser. The main problem with the refrigerator is that it is Stainless Steel. Most of you are thinking what is the problem with that because that is the popular style.

The problem is that I have two little kids and we like to display their artwork on the front of the refrigerator and with stainless steel we can't. That was until I found the CRICKiT. It is great! We are now able to displayt things on the front of the refrigerator!

The Crickit™ Clip is a a high quality magnetic clip that grips to any slick surface - stainless steel, aluminum, glass, mirrors & more! It includes a magnet, non-adhesive Mungo Grip™ backing and paper scoop.

  • Non-Adhesive Mungo Grip™ Backing
  • Magnetic
  • Paper Scoop
  • High Intensity Magnet Pivot
  • Extra Large Print Surface
  • Grip Protects Surfaces from Scratching or Marring
  • Won't Leave Sticky Residue!
Another great thing about the Crickit is that it is made here in Indianapolis! It is made by the same company that makes the Gatorclip.

Do you have a place that you would love to put a clip but just can't because a magnetic clip won't stick to it? If so then you need to see the Clickit!

Etiquette....phone

Recently it was brought to my attention that most people don't leave messages. It is just expected that when you call someone then they will call you back. I also found out that it is not age specific.

Leaving voice messages are no longer 'IN'. For example, say your phone starts ringing. You are in a meeting and are not able to get to the call. What do you do after you finish your meeting? Will you think to your self that that person will call you back later . . . . or do you check your voicemail to see if they left a message . . . . or do you call them back right away? Did you know that most people say that you are expected to call the person back even if they did NOT leave you a message?

This seems very different than what I learned to be ‘phone etiquette’. This may be because there was not such a thing as Caller Id when l was learning to use the phone plus there was not such a thing as a cell phone. . . but that is beside the point. J

This is a new rule that I am having a difficult time remembering. I am still in the belief that if I call someone (except for my husband) I will leave them a message if it is important OR if I need to talk to them about something. If they don’t answer then I will try back later to get ahold of them.

When I get out of a meeting, I try to check my cell phone to see if I missed any calls. Some I call back but it really depends on the time I have available.

If there has been a message left then I call back. Granted I may not listen to a message before I call them back. But they did leave a message so I know there is something that I need to know. I usually only do this with friends but I usually start the conversation the same way. I start by saying I know they left a message but I have not had a chance to listen to it. They always follow with it wasn't important OR with the info left in the message.

So what do you do?

Do you leave a message OR do you just expect to receive a return call because we all have caller I'd on our phones?

Using Bags as Gifts

In the last post, I talked about wrapping gifts for customers. The last item I showed you is one of my favorite logoed items. I like it because it is so practical and can be used over and over again. In fact, I just keep a Therm-O-Tote in my car filled with other logoed shopping bags. Before I go into a store I grab the one bag and am off. I am constantly reminded of who gave me the bags or of my own logo. Not only that, but the others around me see the logoed bags! Another example of a walking advertisement!

Since the holidays are almost upon us, have you thought about using using this wrapping idea as a GIFT? Why not use a couple of different sized bags or three of the same size and giving those as your holiday gift? You might even have requests from others in the office once they see what you have given!

Because these bags fold up flat, they wrap nicely. They also wrap up well with logoed ribbon. Nothing to throw away, only things that can be recycled!

Would you like to see some samples of these great holiday gifts?

Wrapping a Customer Gift

Well, the gift giving season is upon us. Many people have already started their Holiday shopping. This means that the wrapping will begin. I know the normal way to wrap up a gift is with wrapping paper. Some people, including myself, also wrap gifts with paper gift bags that are used once or maybe twice if re-gifted.

How do you wrap up a customer's gift?

Do you use logoed wrapping paper? Have you ever thought about using wrapping paper that has your logo imprinted on it? Think about all the different times throughout the year that you give gifts and would be able to use this unique logoed item! What a great way to let you customer know IMMEDIATELY who the gift is from!

The next item I want to show you I love! If you are looking for a way to wrap up your customer's gift but don't like the idea of it being used once and then thrown away. . . then this is for you!!! It will be used much more often than the ones listed above!

When you go grocery shopping, do you come home with the store's loged bags? What do your customers come home with? Why not have them see your logo each time they go shopping? Why not have them reminded about you each time they get out a cooler? So many people are getting into green products. One of the easiest ways to do this is by reusing their shopping bags.

The item on the left is the Therm-O-Tote. It is great for keeping the cold items that you purchase cold. Not only is this a great shopping bag but it has a zipper so it can also be used as a cooler! I keep one of these in the back of my car filled with other reusable shopping bags including a couple of the bags on the right. These bags are the most popular non-woven bags. They can be imprinted with a one color logo or with multi-color imprinting. The best thing about these is that they are EARTH FRIENDLY BAGS:
20% post-industrial recycled content

  • Reusable

  • 100% Recyclable

I love the reuseable bag product so much, I soon will be ordering some to use when I deliver logoed apparel orders. Would you like to see a sample of one of these bags?

Wearing Your Letters Religiously

Last week, I attended one of the monthly Rainmakers events. This one in particular I have attended since it started. This meeting was not very well attended for some reason which I am finding to be a common occurrence among all of the networking events that I attend. This is not what I want to talk about today though.

At this meeting I was talking with a man who I met months ago but he did not remember me. This is also a common occurrence. :) Anyway, when he found out that I am an expert in embroidery he pulled up his sweater and showed me the oxford that he was wearing underneath. On the pocket of his oxford he had his three letter monogram. He then followed by asking me if I did embroidery like his monogram. Of course, I said that I do!

His curiosity spiked and he continued with several more questions. He was ecstatic that he was able to find someone closer to his home who provides this service. He currently takes his shirts to a shop on the far west side of Indianapolis and he lives and works on the north side.

Our conversation was very interesting to me. He is the first person that I have met who wears his letters religiously. This man has been wearing his monogram for over 25 years. In fact, he will NOT wear a shirt until it has been embroidered! He said he did not know why but ever since he started wearing his monogram, he has grown to love it so much that he refuses to wear a non monogrammed shirt. When I purchase a new jacket I can be this way but only when it is a new and exciting item! I have been know to defer from this thinking though when my patience has gotten in the way.

This man made me really think about what I do. He is a great example of what we should all be doing. He proudly wears his monogram every day just as we should proudly wear our logo. Do you proudly wear your logo and brand? If you don't, why not?

Unique and Desired Passout for young and old

Yesterday morning I was watching my favorite Sunday Morning show. They were doing a bit about Yo-Yos. I was totally amazed what I learned about this childhood toy. Did you have a Yo-Yo when you were growing up? What did it look like?

Did you know that Yo-Yos have been tracked back to 500 BC? I did now! I was amazed to find out that there are drawings of children and adults playing with yo-yos from the 1700 and 1800s. Who knew? Definately not me!

Not only was I intrigued by the history of the Yo-Yo but I still can not believe how they are currently being played with. If you are just learning how to play with a yo-yo, like my son Nathan, then it is still done the traditional way. This traditional way is to put your index finger through the hole in the string. You then move your hand so that the Yo-Yo moves up and down on the string.

After this technique has been mastered, Nathan will move on to the many different tricks and flips. He will have to learn these outside though so that I do not have a broken vase or picture frame. He might be like those on the program that then move on to using multiple Yo-Yos at the same time. I just hope that he is able to keep the strings from being tangled. When we watched the show, my husband and I just sat there and watched in disbelief at how they were able to keep the strings from getting tangled.

I know that I have talked about how they are played with but the look of a Yo-Yo has really changed as well. Of course the normal look that we grew up with is still available. But if you want something a little unique then then you are in luck! The Yo-Yo has changed with the times!

Since this childhood toy is still very 'in', I decided to look into the different styles that are available to my customers. To my surprise, there are many different choices.

Of course there are very traditional ones but you can also get your logo imprinted on stress ball Yo-Yos, Animal Shaped Ones, Gold Plated ones, Lighted one, etc.

Are you looking for a unique give away that is loved by the young and old? This just might be the product for you! Contact me for a sample!

Seeing your logo even when it is dark out!

Last week I attended a Holiday Promotional Product Trade show. The suppliers had many ideas for the holidays as well as some new items.

One of the unique items that I saw was a called a Smashlight™! I thought it was great because it looks like a typical flashlight but it is really flat! This makes it perfect to put into your pocket or purse, therefore you will always have light with you.
The Smashlight™ also includes:
  • a wrist cord
  • magnetic back, making it easy to keep this light around.
  • 2 LED Bults to make super bright light
  • 2 Lithium Batteries
  • Product Size: .3125" x 1.5" x 5"
  • 1 or 2 color Imprint
  • Imprint Area: .75" tall x 2.25" wide
Another great thing about the SmashLight is that it is made by a local, Indianapolis company called Bentcil! I have a sample one of these as well if you would like to see one!

Jacket Back

Last week I showed you several jackets that are currently available in pink to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Jackets are a great way to display your logo. There are so many different locations on a jacket for embroidery!

Some of those locations include:
  • Large jacket back design
  • Left chest
  • Sleeve
  • Wrist
Here is an example of a jacket back design we just finished for Creed Improvements. Chris wanted his logo to be seen on the back of his jacket so that is just what we did. What a great way to show off your company brand and logo!

What do you think? Would you like your logo on the back of a jacket?

Wear Your Pink

I am sure you are aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a great month to start wearing pink to show your support in the fight against cancer. Many of our suppliers offer items that when purchased a portion of the proceeds will be donated to cancer research and cancer support groups.

My favorite jacket supplier is a great example!. . . .Charles River. . . Their jackets are some of the best in the industry. If you ever seen me wearing a cream jacket with my little KK's embroidered on the left chest in cream, then you have seen a Charles River Jacket. In fact, you may have even complimented me on it as I receive many comments every time I wear that jacket.

They have came out with some new jackets for their 2010 line which I am really excited about. I have ordred some samples and will talk about those at a later date. For now though, I am focusing on their 'Be Pink Proud' campaign. Here are some of their pink items in which they donate a portion of their sales.
The #5099 Women's New Englander Rain Jacket and #5031 Women's Evolux Fleece Jacket are two of their new 2010 items! I have one of the #5099 ordered but unfortunately it is on backorder at the moment.

So, what do you think? Would you like to see samples of some of these items? Are you wearing Pink to show your support?
