Generate customer referrals with Promotional Products

Have you ever taken a few minutes to think about the referrals that you receive? Referrals are a major way to grow one’s business. In fact, many companies do not advertise and grow simply from networking and referrals.

How do you go about getting referrals? Do you ask for referrals? Have you ever thought about using promotional products to receive more referrals?

Studies have shown that customers who received promotional products are 14% more likely to provide leads than those that did not receive a promotional product? In fact, salespeople who give promotional gifts to their customers receive 22% more referrals than salespeople who do not use promotional products.

When you give a promotional product to your customers, how does it make you feel? Not only did the person receiving the gift feel good but the person giving it also feels really good about it. Gifts are always received well by customers even if it does have your logo on it.

They can be used as a one-time promotion to simply say ‘Thank You’. Several promotional items can be themed to a certain promotion and be given throughout a certain time frame. Either way, providing promotional gifts increases business referrals.

Have you found this to be true for you?

What promotional products to you give to customers for referrals?

Wrapping a Customer Gift

Well, the gift giving season is upon us. Many people have already started their Holiday shopping. This means that the wrapping will begin. I know the normal way to wrap up a gift is with wrapping paper. Some people, including myself, also wrap gifts with paper gift bags that are used once or maybe twice if re-gifted.

How do you wrap up a customer's gift?

Do you use logoed wrapping paper? Have you ever thought about using wrapping paper that has your logo imprinted on it? Think about all the different times throughout the year that you give gifts and would be able to use this unique logoed item! What a great way to let you customer know IMMEDIATELY who the gift is from!

The next item I want to show you I love! If you are looking for a way to wrap up your customer's gift but don't like the idea of it being used once and then thrown away. . . then this is for you!!! It will be used much more often than the ones listed above!

When you go grocery shopping, do you come home with the store's loged bags? What do your customers come home with? Why not have them see your logo each time they go shopping? Why not have them reminded about you each time they get out a cooler? So many people are getting into green products. One of the easiest ways to do this is by reusing their shopping bags.

The item on the left is the Therm-O-Tote. It is great for keeping the cold items that you purchase cold. Not only is this a great shopping bag but it has a zipper so it can also be used as a cooler! I keep one of these in the back of my car filled with other reusable shopping bags including a couple of the bags on the right. These bags are the most popular non-woven bags. They can be imprinted with a one color logo or with multi-color imprinting. The best thing about these is that they are EARTH FRIENDLY BAGS:
20% post-industrial recycled content

  • Reusable

  • 100% Recyclable

I love the reuseable bag product so much, I soon will be ordering some to use when I deliver logoed apparel orders. Would you like to see a sample of one of these bags?

Picture Purse

Finally I have a picture of my purse!  I am a little under the weather and have not been keeping up with my blog so I thought that I would at least add some pictures.

I have been promising a picture of my picture woven purse and I finally have one to share!  This picture was taken last week at the Fishers Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours.  It obviously was a Holiday themed event and even with Santa present!!

In this first picture, Santa is pointing to Nathan and Lisa and telling me what good kids they have been!  (No that is not a glass of wine in my hand . . .it is empty!)

[caption id="attachment_265" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Santa Pointing to Photo bag"]Santa Pointing to Photo bag[/caption]

In this picture I am telling Santa what a good girl I have been and what I want for Christmas (remember that Wii!)

[caption id="attachment_266" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Kristie on Santa"]Kristie on Santa's Lap with Photo Bag[/caption]

So, what do you think?

Do you want to give one of these purses for a holiday gift?  We are running out of time to get one ordered for a Christmas gift!  If you still want one, give me a call as soon as possible (or email works too since I do not have a voice)!!

They are a wonderful gift that will be treasured for a long time!

Corporate Holiday Gift Ideas

The year is winding down and we are finding that our customers are really thinking about the upcoming holidays.

Most of our customers are telling us that they not only have to purchase gifts for their family and friends but they also want to purchase something special for their clients and employees. This brings them to us.

Are you one of these people that I am talking about?

Do you find yourself struggling with what to purchase?

Is it important to you that you find just the right item that is good looking, not that cheap or cheap looking and most important, an item that the recipient will really use?

If so, you are not alone.  Many of my customers have expressed this concern to me.  They are not wanting to spend their money on an inexpensive $0.25 pen or something that will just go in the drawer after they receive it. They want to spend a little bit more on an items that will be meaningful to their client and employees. It is important to them to find an item that emphasizes their company's brand.

There are many things out there that you can give and will be enjoyed for years to come.  Do you want them to use it all year long?  What about a fleece blanket with your logo on it?  You can have your logo embroidered in the corner and they will always have it to use and remember you when they are wrapped up in it.

Are you thinking of a gift that they will use on vacations or during the summer?  What about a nice towel?  Towels can be made so many different ways.  You can have it made with your logo as the entire towel or simply embossed on the bottom of the towel.  There are also several fun designs that are already made but your logo can be added in a fun spot on the towel.   These are both nice gifts that can be used over and over again and appreciated every time!

[caption id="attachment_197" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Champion Fleece"]Chamion Fleece[/caption]

Are you wanting something that they will use immediately?  What about a nice fleece jacket either with a full front zipper or a partial zipper?  You logo can be placed in the upper left chest pocket area, on the back by the tag or on the sleeve.  All these options are great!  You will definitely be appreciated on those cold days when the fleece is put on!

[caption id="attachment_198" align="alignleft" width="240" caption="Soft Shell Poly Fleece Jacket"]Soft Shell Poly Fleece Jacket[/caption]

Are you thinking jacket but do now want a fleece?  How about the new soft shell poly fleece jackets?  These are very popular!  I absolutely love mine!  It is very comfortable and blocks the wind.

Do you want more information about these or any of our other products?

If so, please let me know!  I am more than happy to show you!

Local Showroom

Are you looking to add logoed apparel to your wardrobe but do not really like ordering from a catalog?  If so, I might have the next best thing!  How about shopping at a local showroom where you can touch, feel and try on some of the many options available to you?

Two of my suppliers have a showroom located on the northeast side.  It has recently opened and is now available.  I can take my clients there for a personal shopping experience.  Many of you have told me how much you like this option.  It has been wonderful!

I have had customers tell me that it is perfect for them because they are very picky.  Others have told me not to tell their wife that they tried on clothes for me because they do not do it for their wife!  And still others have told me that they can't wait to go back in the spring when they are ready for their summer apparel.

They now have many samples available that are in the New 2009 Catalogs!

Do you want to go shopping?  Then let's go!  Email me to set up a time!

Nice Holiday Gifts

OK, so I am back to the holiday gifts.  I want to go back to this subject for a couple of reasons.  The first one is that the last few days I have seen the exact same commercial and it makes me think of my blog/newsletter every time!  The commercial is for Kmart and is advertising their layaway department.  If you start shopping now you can put the presents on layaway. . . pay for them little by little. . . and have them paid off in time for the gift giving!!

When I sent out my first newsletter a few weeks ago, I mentioned that many of you might think that it is too early to start thinking of purchasing for the holidays.  Well, was I ever wrong!  Since then, not only have I seen the Kmart commercial many times, I have also spoken with several different business friends.  They told me that they have already started shopping. . .one started shopping in August, another started in September and another has almost all of her shopping completed!  WOW!  I guess great minds think alike!  It is never too early to start thinking about the holiday gifts and Kmart is telling everyone!

The second reason that I wanted to go back to this subject is that there are some really nice options for gift giving with your corporate logo.  If you are one of the people that like to give nice gifts but want it to have your logo on it, let me know . . .I can help.  I totally understand and have several options.

I mentioned this to the NAG group this morning but you may not have been there.  If that is the case, you are in luck!:)  There are many ways to give your friends, family, employees and customers holiday gifts that also can come from the company.  The person you give the gift to can advertise for your company all year. Not only that, they also will show that your companies' image is important to you.  A nice pen is great but sometimes you want to give something different.  If you are looking for a gift that will last, why not put your logo on a nice jacket, fleece pullover, sweater or hat?  The person you give it to will wear your logo around town and continue advertising for you!

If you are thinking, "I want to give a nice gift but I do not want it to shout out our logo because then it might not be worn."  Do not worry because there are ways to get around that!  Logos can be placed in different locations.  They do not always have to be on the left chest of a shirt or jacket.  You could put them on the sleeve, on the shoulder or the back by the tag.  These are nice, different locations to put logos.

Logos can also be embroidered as a tone on tone.  This means that the thread used will not be the colors of your logo but will match the color of the garment being embroidered on.  For example, if you have a nice brown, suede jacket and you want your logo on it but you want it in the left chest area and you do not really want the bright colors of your logo, we can embroider the logo in a brown a little bit darker or lighter than the brown of the jacket.  This way your logo is on it . .  it is still visible but it goes well and does not shout out to those that see it!  We have done this very successfully for several of our clients.  It always looks really nice.

Do I have you thinking?  What have you seen embroidered that you really liked?

Do you need some more ideas?  Let me know and we can meet!

Going Green!

The big theme that I continued to see at almost every table today was "Green".  There were so many green products to choose from.   It has taken this idea some time to get to the Midwest but this show proved tome that it is finally here and taking off!  I saw the most green products here than I ever have at a show!

How about a recycled Pencil?

[caption id="attachment_93" align="alignnone" width="55" caption="Recycled Pencil"]Recycled Pencil[/caption]

Or a water powered calculator?

[caption id="attachment_94" align="alignnone" width="289" caption="Water Powered Calculator"]Water Powered Calculator[/caption]

How many of your customers support being green?

Is being green important to you or to your company?  If so, you are not alone!  I want to hear from you and let me know why.

Holiday Gift Ideas Tour

Today I attended a Holiday Gift Ideas Showcase put on by an associations of which I am a member.  It was small but after walking around for a few hours I left with my shoulders hurting and may my mind full of ideas!  My shoulders/back hurt because the bags that I carried were full of catalogs and samples!

Networking and Blogging

This morning I got up early to make it to my bimonthly networking meeting for NAG.  Today was special because I was the featured speaker.  Jeff Bowe and I take turns facilitating the meetings but today he was running a little late.  This meant that not only was I speaking at the end of the meeting but I was also facilitating to get things started.  Unfortunately after everyone had their chance to go around the room and give there minute or more spiel about themselves, I only had about 7 minutes to speak.  Because it was running late, some of the members started to get up to head to their other appointments.

During my brief speak, I was able to mention a few things that were on my list.  Again, because of time I only was able to quickly mention these items.  One of which is the start of this new blog!  I explained how it is very important to me that I become the expert when it comes to embroidery and promotional products for my customers.  If I do not know the answer then I will do my best to find the answer.

Most of the blog discussion occurred after the meeting was over between a few of the remaining members including Amy Stark, Jeff Bowe, Mary Pat McKee, Jim Hugenard and of course myself.  We discussed how to get others to know about your blog.  It was mentioned that we need to start checking out each others blogs and leave messages on their blogs.  The helps to move blogs higher in the search enginges.  When I returned to the office I did just that and started by checking out a few of their blogs.  I started with Jeff's.  Read my comments.

I was able to show a few samples of the picture weave gifts, quality of embroidery, green products, antibacterial promotional product and embroidered toilet paper.

[caption id="attachment_63" align="alignnone" width="330" caption="Embroidered Toilet Paper"]Embroidered Toilet Paper[/caption]

Of course the question that I always get was asked, "Why embroider toilet paper?" and of course the answer is "Why not?".  I then continued to give other reasons such as it is a very memorable item!  Anyone that I show it to will always remember that I embroider toilet paper.  I am OK with this because at least they remember me.  Another reason is that is shows that we can embroider on things as delicate as toilet paper.  It is a unique way to show your company logo along with the embroidered towels.  Always have your logo in front of your customers even when they use your restroom.  And last but not least, it is a gift for the person that has anything.

So, what do you think?  Do you like the embroidered toilet paper?  Do you have other uses for the embroidered toilet paper?  I wouldlove to hear them!

Personalized Gifts with Pictures

So yesterday I mentioned the Holiday Gifts with pictures.  For those of you that do not know what I am talking about check out this testimonial from Scott Seibert!  Doesn't it look like his dogs are sitting on the couch?  The blankets are unbelievable with the detail they are able to show.  They have been a huge hit ever since I started providing them to customers!

The best thing about these throws, purses, totes and wall hangings is that the picture is actually woven into the product, not printed on it like most other options.  I can also over the printed products to my customers but when I found these I decided that there was not contest!  These are 100 times better!!  If you are interested in seeing on in person, contact me and I am more than happy to show you one.  Here are some pictures to you have an idea on what I am talking about. (Just a note, I am new to this whole Blog Things so I am having a hard time getting the pictures where I want them!  You get the point though, right?)  I still need to take a picture of my purse for you to see!  I will do that as soon as I can and then post it!

[caption id="attachment_54" align="alignleft" width="135" caption="Woven Tote Bag"]Woven Tote Bag[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_57" align="alignright" width="191" caption="Woven Dog Throw"]Woven Dog Throw[/caption]

If you really like monograms but are up for something new or do not really want embroider then check out these new options!

Remember, these items are woven and not printed so they take longer to produce.  If you are thinking about doing something like this for Holiday Gifts, give yourself 5 - 6 weeks!  They do not always take that long but make sure you leave yourself enough time so they are not a late gift!
